Meeting Recap: IMF Innovation Summit
From the Executive Director, Ted Williams:
If you missed it, you missed a good one.
IMF Members came together last week at the Loews Atlanta Hotel to share practical ideas on innovation. We had more first-time participants than any IMF meeting in my tenure and it made for some exciting perspectives.
After an interesting walk through the successful process of infusing innovation into the culture of a 125-year-old bank, we broke into groups to invent and develop our own new products. A winning product, Poll Pal, allowed online voting and real-time polling on smart phones. It became easy to see how quickly we could get from idea to business case and really demonstrated the simplicity and practicality of the process.
We had our first 11 rating on a scale of 10 with the presentation “Innovation Through Knowledge Engineering” where we saw real life examples of monetizing information in big data analysis.
The group learned of extreme successes in hiring and retaining IT talent in an innovative program that was recently recognized and awarded by the First Lady and the White House. We saw real advances in visualizing all aspects of IT for very fast study of performance.
We are working on the reports now, so keep an eye out for them soon.
